You sneeze! People might say it could be because of the changing weather. If you feel feverish, you might attribute it to the cold weather. But it could also be sinusitis, a condition where the nasal passages get inflamed!

Sinus infections typically present themselves when there is a change in the climatic conditions, you need to know whether you are prone to the condition. If you are, then your sinusitis would aggravate in the changing climatic conditions. It is not possible to ignore this condition, because you are likely to get headaches, followed by facial pain, sneezing, blocked nose, eye itching and so on.

However, you can keep yourself safe from the virus by following certain simple tips:

Keeping your nasal passages moist

Moist nasal passages can relieve nasal congestion and allow the sinuses to drain properly. This usually happens naturally in a humid environment, but during cold climate or summer, the heating and air conditioning can dry up the nasal passage, causing irritation. So you can stock up on the nasal spray and apply them whenever you feel the dryness.

Stay away from irritation causing allergens

Some people are allergic to smoke (campfires, cigarettes, etc), smog, mold spores, automobile exhaust. These could damage the cilia and the mucous membrane. You need to steer clear from smoke if possible, because there is no other way to get relief from sinusitis caused due to smoke exposure.

Inhale steam

Inhaling steam can keep your nasal passages clean and moist, and would be the best remedy for sinusitis in cold climates. Just 10-15 minutes of steaming would be perfect.

Try these remedies, and drink plenty of water, because hydration is so important to keep the mucous thin and weak. If, after following these tips, you still do not get relief, then you need to consult a doctor at the Internal Medicine department.
